The traditional belief is that Saint Thomas (Mar Thoma), one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ came to India in the year AD 52 and established the church in the Malabar coast. Mar Thoma Syrian Church is one of the oldest denominations of Christianity. The Church defines itself as "Apostolic in origin, Universal in nature, Biblical in faith, Evangelical in principle, Ecumenical in outlook, Oriental in worship."
From a humble beginning in 1980 with 25 families our church has grown to 128 families.
In 2005, by the Grace of God we dedicated the new church facility at the cost of $2.3 Million. We thank God for His abundant mercy. "This church is the indestructible, monumental accumulation of the prayers, the hopes, the ideals, and the faith of all the people in this church. We are the army of God and this church is the fortress of our strength. The beauty and glory of this church have been dearly purchased in prayer and pain and we salute and remember with gratitude those who worked tirelessly to erect this monument of faith. This church is here because we have a prosperous present, a bright future, a united diocese, a dynamic bishop, and devoted clergies. All the members of this parish rejoice in the beauty of our new and glorious temple to God’s glory."
